A quiet, home-based 1-2-1 grooming salon in East Didsbury. No kennels, no other dogs in the room, no production line — just Lucy and your dog, taking the time it takes.
"Honestly worth the wait. Bertie usually hates the groomer. Came home like a different dog."
— Hannah, Didsbury
The promise
Only one dog in the salon at a time. Yours. Start to finish.
About Lucy
Lucy's Groom Room isn't a high street salon. It's Lucy's home in East Didsbury — a quiet, purpose-built grooming room where only one dog is booked in at a time.
No other dogs barking in the back. No cages. No waiting with a wet coat. Your dog arrives, gets Lucy's full attention for the whole appointment, then goes home. That's it.
Lucy is a qualified groomer, Pet First Aid & CPCR trained, and fully insured. She built this setup specifically for nervous dogs, seniors, reactive dogs and anyone whose owner has ever picked them up from a busier salon feeling unsure.

Why the waitlist
Average of 57 Google reviews
Honestly worth every minute of the waitlist. Bertie hates the groomer — comes out like a rag doll usually. With Lucy he's just… calm. You can tell he's been properly looked after.

Moved to Lucy after our old salon kept Poppy crated for three hours. Night and day. The 1-2-1 setup is genuinely worth the travel from Chorlton. She never comes home stressed any more.

My little Schnauzer is 14 and really anxious now. Lucy takes her time, breaks it up, and doesn't make us feel bad for the slower pace. She knows exactly what she's doing.

Waited three months and it was 100% the right call. Little room, so calm, Lucy is clearly brilliant with dogs. Teddy actually trots in now instead of dragging on the lead.

Puppy's first groom — I was so nervous. Lucy met us outside first, let him sniff around, explained what she'd do. He came out with a lovely tidy coat and a wagging tail.

Questions, answered
If your question isn't here, drop Lucy a message — she'll come back to you.
You fill in the form or drop a message with your dog's breed, age and what you're after. Lucy works through the list in order. When a slot opens that suits your dog, she'll be in touch to offer dates. There's no pressure and no fee to be on the list.
That's genuinely why Lucy built the salon this way. There are no other dogs in the room, no big noisy dryer blasting in the background, and Lucy won't rush your dog through. If a session needs to be split over two visits, that's fine too — the priority is the dog feeling safe.
A full groom covers a thorough brush-out and de-mat, warm bath with appropriate shampoo and conditioner, blow dry, nails clipped, ears checked and cleaned, hygiene trim, and a full styled trim or scissor finish to breed standard (or however you like your dog looking).
Yes — Lucy asks to see up-to-date vaccinations before a first visit. A quick photo of the vaccination card emailed across is fine. Puppies can book in from around 16 weeks, once they've had their second vaccination.
Most full grooms take between 1.5 and 2.5 hours, depending on size, coat type and condition. Because it's strictly one dog at a time, Lucy will give you an honest drop-off and pick-up time when she books you in — no dogs sitting around in crates before or after.
Lucy will meet you at the door, have a proper chat about your dog — their personality, any health bits, how you like them looking — and give your dog a minute to settle before starting. You'll get an honest assessment of the coat and a clear price before anything begins.
